Rice Pilaf
(basic recipe)
Pre-prep. Instructions:
Equipment needed:
3-quart saucepan

Directions:
1. Cook and stir the onion in the butter or margarine in a 3-quart saucepan until the onion is tender. 2. Add the rice and stir to coat with butter. 3. Add the hot stock or water, the bay leaf, salt and pepper. 4. Bring to a boil cover and cook for about 20 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
