Dry Measurements
Use standard individual cups that are straight across the top. Lightly spoon dry ingredients into the correct cup size, heap up, and level off by passing the edge of a spatula across the top. Use measuring spoons in the same manner.
A pinch is amount of dry ingredient that can be held between the tips of your thumb and forefinger, equal to 1/16 tsp.
These dry measurements can be used for liquid measuring, but I do not recommend it, because they will only multiply out to cups. Please refer to liquid measurements for more information.
Liquid Measurements
Use a clear glass or plastic measuring cup, which permits you to see the level of the liquid being measured. These types of measuring cups have a rim that extends above the top measurement mark to prevent liquids from spilling when measured. Liquid measuring cups also have an extended lip to make pouring easier.
Do not confuse fluid ounces (fl.oz.) a liquid measurement for dry ounces (oz.) a weight measurement.
Teaspoons (tsp.), tablespoons (tbsp.) and cups (cup)are usable as liquid measuring but are actually dry measurements and will only multiply out to cups.
When measuring liquids, to obtain conversions to pints, quarts, and gallons, select fluid ounces (fl.oz.) or fluid cups (fl.cup.) from the drop down menu.
Equivalences:
1 tbsp. = 1/2 fl.oz.
1/2 tbsp. = 1/4 fl.oz.
1 tsp. = 1/6 fl.oz.
1/2 tsp. = 1/12 fl.oz.
1/4 tsp. = 1/24 fl.oz.
A dash = 1/8 tsp.
Weight Measurements
The most accurate form of Measurement is by weight. This is the method used by professional Bakers. A good ounce scale

Number of servings
You will have the most success if you keep the number ofservings an even quantity. The calculator is not infinitedepending on the amount of each ingredient it will work up to about 200 servings. Try to us the largest unit for the quantity.
Exp.: Use 1 tbsp. instead of 3 tsp., 3 pints instead of 6 fl.cup.
If you choose to use a quick conversion button, you will be given the option to enter the number of servings into the printer friendly page.
